Understanding SMS Reporting

You can access your SMS campaign reports through different ways. The first option is to use the dedicated app called 'View SMS campaigns reports' (Catalog > Reporting > View SMS campaigns reports).

smsReporting1

This app will enable you to filter your campaign reports based on the status of the campaign (In progress or Sent).

smsReporting2

To access a campaign report, you just need to find the campaign whose report you would like to view, double click it or select it and then click on "View report".

smsReporting3

The second option is to access your SMS campaign reports directly through the 'Manage SMS campaigns' app (Catalog > Mobile campaigns > Manage SMS campaigns). Select the relevant campaign and click on "View report". Remember that reports are only available for 'In progress' or 'Sent' campaigns.

Understanding SMS campaign reports

The SMS campaign reports are composed of the 'Summary' tab.

smsReporting6

At the right side of the screen, you will see a graph representing your rate of sent, delivered and clicked SMS.

At the left side of the screen, you will see two tables:

1. Table of data on the target group

smsReporting7

You will observe different statuses in this table:

  • Targeted profiles = number of profiles in the target
  • In error = number of profiles for which the SMS could not be sent due to an error
    • Error encountered at the generation of a personalized message
    • One of the variables of personalization did not have any value for the profile concerned (e.g.: personalization on the first name for a person who does not have one)
    • The message is not defined in the language of the profile
    • The length of the message is too long compared with the maximum length and multiple SMS are not activated (can happen if a particularly long personalization brings the message over the character count)
    • An error occurred when Actito tried to send an SMS to the supplier
    • The target profile is not part of the targeting of the campaign
    • No SMS account has been set up for the license
    • There are not enough SMS credits anymore
    • The target profile had no mobile number
  • Filtered = number of profiles filtered by the Smart filter
    • The SMS was not sent because Actito has received a ‘STOP message’ for that mobile number before
    • An unknown phone number has been detected before
    • The commercial pressure filter was activated for this profile
    • The ‘control group’ filter was activated, and the profile was randomly chosen to be part of this control population on this SMS campaign
    • The mobile number of the profile is known, but invalid (e.g. an international prefix is missing)
  • Net (sent) = number of profiles who did receive the SMS

This table compares the numbers of these four categories. Each profile is counted only once (unique number).

2. Table of data on the campaign results

smsReporting8

Here again, you will observe different statuses:

  • Net (sent) = number of SMS that are sent
  • Delivery failed = number of SMS that have failed to be delivered
  • Pending at partner = number of SMS that are pending at our partner (waiting to know if they will be delivered or not)
    • Phone off/without signal (SMS is sent when the phone is on or has signal)
    • Temporary error at supplier
    • No information back from supplier
  • Delivered = number of SMS that have been delivered
  • Clicked/(Delivered) = number of SMS that were clicked out of the number delivered
  • Unsubscribed/(Delivered) = number of SMS that were unsubscribed out of the number delivered
