Using Assets from a DAM
Powered by the technology of our partners Ibexa, Bynder and Cloudinary, Actito allows you to manage your marketing assets inside one centralized tool.
Thanks to the Digital Asset Management (DAM) tool, fully integrated in Actito, you can easily add images that come from your libraries in the content of your e-mail campaigns in one click and without having to change screen.
With the DAM, you can:
- Add images to your communications without having to store them on your device beforehand
- Browse your images library and make research to find the perfect image to add to your communication
- Select and import an image from your libraries, directly from the e-mail editor
- …
To access your libraries, go to the 'Manage e-mail campaigns' app (Portal > E-mail campaigns > Manage e-mail campaigns).
Access images from your libraries
Thanks to the integration of Ibexa, Bynder and Cloudinary in Actito, you can access images from your libraries in one click to enrich the content of your e-mail campaigns.
You need a Ibexa/Bynder/Cloudinary account to access these libraries from Actito.
To do so, go to the e-mail editor, at step 3 of the creation of a campaign. On a content block containing an image, click on 'Select image from libraries'.
If you edit the content of your e-mail through the import of an HTML and you want to add an image from one of the DAM tools, copy and paste the URL of the image in your HTML.
This will open a menu from which you can choose the integration from which you wish to explore the libraries.
To access the Ibexa integration, you must already be an Ibexa customer. If you are an Ibexa customer and would like to use the integration in your license, please contact your account manager.
Connection to the DAM tools
To access your libraries, you need to connect to your Bynder/Cloudinary account from Actito.
This connection is unique for each user. This means that each user will have to do the manipulation on his Actito account.
Connection to Ibexa
To access the Ibexa integration, you must already be an Ibexa customer.
If you are an Ibexa customer and would like to use the integration in your license, please contact your account manager.
The set up of the Ibexa integration in your license is handled by Actito teams. Once the set up is complete, you will have access to your Ibexa library in your licence.
Ibexa is an Actito partner, fully integrated in the platform. This means that you have access to Ibexa portal directly from Actito. Therefore, it means that you can navigate in the portal using the features you are used to on Ibexa (search bar, filters, folders…). Which makes it easier to find your images.
Once you have found the image you want to include in your e-mail, select it and click on 'Insert'.
The image you have chosen will be added to your campaign.
Connection to Bynder
To connect to Bynder, select the 'Bynder' tab, enter your Bynder portal domain and click on 'Connect'.
You will find the portal domain at the beginning of the URL you are using to connect to Bynder.
If your portal domain is correct, a pop up window will open.
In this window, enter your login and password to connect to Bynder.
Once you are connected, you will have access to Bynder's interface.
You only have to connect once to the Bynder integration. Once you are connected, you remain connected to the integration every time you log in Actito.
You can log out at any time by clicking on 'Log out'.
Bynder is an Actito partner, fully integrated in the platform. This means that you have access to Bynder portal directly from Actito. Therefore, it means that you can navigate in the portal using the features you are used to on Bynder (search bar, advanced filters, tags…). Which makes it easier to find your images.
Once you have found the image you want to include in your e-mail, select it and click on 'Add asset'.
The image you have chosen will be added to your campaign.
Connection to Cloudinary
To access your Cloudinary library, you first need to create a Cloudinary integration on your license.
To do so, go to the license configuration menu and click on 'Integrations'
Then click on the 'Create an integration' button and select the partner 'Cloudinary'
Define a name for your integration (e.g. the name of your Cloudinary environment) and choose on which entity you would like to create the integration.
Then, you can enter the information required for connection. You will find all this information on your Cloudinary account.
To do so, go to Cloudinary website and click on 'My profile'.
In the 'Account' tab, at the bottom of the page, you will find the 'Cloud name'.
In the 'Access Keys' tab, you will find the 'API Key' and the 'API Secret'.
Once you have the name of the cloud, the 'API Key' and the 'API Secret', you can copy and paste them in Actito integration menu and click on 'Test access'.
This will allow you to check that the API keys you have pasted are correct.
If the information provided is incorrect, an error message will appear to inform you that there is an error in your credentials.
Please check that your information is correct and rectify any errors. As soon as everything is ok, when you will test the access, a green banner will appear to let you know that everything is correct.
If your information is correct, a banner will appear on your screen to let you know that the call to your Cloudinary account has worked, and you can 'Save' your integration.
Once the integration is created, you remain connected to the integration as soon as you log in to Actito. If you wish, you can disconnect from your Cloudinary account at any time by deleting the integration.
You will then have access to your Cloudinary library, from the email campaign editor.
You can browse your library thanks to the search bar on tags and context.
The integration to Cloudinary does not take you back to Cloudinary portal. You will find an Actito screen where you can access the images of your library.
Once you have found the image you want to add to your e-mail, select it and click on 'Save'.
The image you have chosen will be added to your campaign.
URL of the integrated image
To integrate the image in your e-mail campaign, Actito refers directly to the URL of the image hosted in the DAM, without re-hosting the image on the Actito servers.
Ibexa, Cloudinary and Bynder give the opportunity to update an image by preserving its URL.
By choosing this option, the image will be automatically updated in your campaign templates referring to a DAM image.
Because of your navigator's cache, it may take a little time for the update to take effect.
This also means that, theoratically, you could upload the images of an e-mail already sent!
However, many webmails (Gmail, Yahoo, Apple mail...) re-host the image at the reception of the e-mail. Which means, that in this case, the image will not be updated.
