Using the Abandoned Basket Template
Abandoned carts are a major challenge for marketers.
It is estimated that around 20% and 40% of abandoned carts can be re-launched and finalized.
To help you create a relaunch campaign project, Actito has designed a relaunch scenario fully customizable according to your needs.
For a successful relaunch campaign, do not hesitate to also use the Goals app and the Actito Customers Signals.
Create your relaunch campaign
Actito allows you to easily create relaunch abandoned cart campaigns, especially thanks to a customizable abandoned basket relaunch scenario template.
If you are interested in this template, please contact your account manager to implement it on your license.
Before you start editing the scenario template, you will have to create two scenarized e-mail campaigns: an abandoned cart campaign and an abandoned cart relaunch campaign.
Create an abandoned cart e-mail campaign
The first e-mail of your scenario is a abandoned cart e-mail.
To write your e-mail, go in the ‘Manage e-mail campaigns’ app and create a scenarized campaign.
In this campaign, you will have to use and set up loop personalizations.
To edit your loop personalization, go to the ‘Personalizations’ menu.
Then, activate the Expert mode to access the Data sources and Loop personalization menus.
In the Data sources menu, add :
- Your abandoned cart table which triggers the scenario
- Your table containing the rows of your abandoned cart, which is used to personalize your e-mail.
You can create your own custom table or you can ask the Actito team for the creation of one or more personalized configuration.
Once you have created and added your Abandoned Cart table to your data sources, go to the settings and, choose 'Supplied by scenario' from the drop-down menu.
Then add your second abandoned cart table, which includes the shopping cart rows from your first table. Go to the settings and select your first abandoned cart table as data source.
Do not forget to save your configurations
Now that your sources are set up, you can configure your e-mail's loop personalization block to link it to your abandoned cart table.
To do this, click on the 'Customize' button in the e-mail editor and activate expert mode.
You will then see the 'Loop Customization' module.
Add your table of abandoned cart rows as the source of the customization and then map the attributes of the table to the attributes in your block. You need to select them from a drop-down menu.
Once your e-mail campaign is finalized. Do not forget to activate it before launching your scenario.
Create an abandoned cart relaunch e-mail campaign
Once you have finalized your abandoned cart e-mail. You can now write your scenarized reminder e-mail.
You can copy your first e-mail campaign and slightly change the content, or start from scratch by following the creation steps of your first e-mail campaign.
Once your e-mail campaign is finalized. Do not forget to activate it before launching your scenario.
Create a targeting
The scenario template contains a targeting block.
You need to create a targeting that will be used to identify profiles that have not yet validated their shopping cart.
Using the template scenario
To help you relaunch abandoned shopping cart that your profiles may have, Actito has created a customizable template for abandoned shopping baskets.
Once you have created and activated your e-mail campaigns, you will be able to create your relaunch scenario.
To do so, go to the 'Manage Scenarios' app (Catalog > Automation > Manage Scenarios).
Click on 'Create a scenario'.
Once you have named your scenario and linked it to your database, in the right-hand side panel, you can select a template from those offered by Actito.
Choose the 'Abandoned Basket' template and click on 'Create'.
Please contact your account manager to have the 'Abandoned Basket' template available in your license.
You will then have access to a predefined abandoned basket scenario that you can modify and link to your e-mail campaigns to suit your needs.
By default, this scenario includes :
- An interaction start block: which triggers the scenario each time a new interaction is recorded in one of the interaction tables linked to your Profiles table. This block is linked to your abandoned cart table.
- A waiting block: whose timing corresponds to the timing after which a basket is considered abandoned. You can define this timing according to your business needs
- A first e-mail campaign sending block: to link to your first e-mail campaign
- A second waiting block: that links the first and second reminder e-mail campaigns
- A targeting block: to target profiles that have still not validated their shopping cart
- A second e-mail campaign sending block: to link to your second abandoned cart e-mail campaign.
Once you have set up your scenario, you can save it and activate it.
The scenario will only be activated if your e-mail campaigns are properly activated.
